Thursday 17 JulyCriminals convicted of disorder in Harehills last summer have been jointly sentenced to more than 39 years in prison, following the latest conviction at court yesterday. In the latest sentencing, Nawzad Hama, aged 46, of Blencarn View was sentenced to two years in prison at Leeds Crown Court on 16 July after pleading guilty to a violent disorder offence committed on 18 July 2024.    Find out more:

Thursday 17 July 2025Two men have been charged after police executed a warrant at a business premises on Station Road, Wyke yesterday (16 July)Officers discovered a large cannabis farm with around 3000 plants in.Five men were arrested yesterday on suspicion of producing a class B drug.Two men aged 46 and 37 were released under investigation. Wednesday, 16 July, 2025Seven men will appear before magistrates in Leeds tomorrow charged with the murder of a man in Dewsbury.  Extensive enquires continue by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team into the murder on Saturday 12 July of a man who can now be named as 36-year-old Shahmus Hussain from Dewsbury.  Mr Hussain was fatally stabbed in Crow Nest Park at about 8:10pm following an incident of disorder.   Find out more:

Tuesday  15 July, 2025Two more men will appear before magistrates this week after being charged with offending following last summer’s disorder in Harehills.  Catalin Barbu, aged 47, of Bellbrooke Avenue and Razvan Gangal, aged 40, or Harehills Lane will both appear before the morning session of Leeds Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 16 July.Both men will appear charged with violent disorder, with Catalin Barbu facing an additional charge of arson.
