Tuesday 2 SeptemberPolice are appealing for information following a burglary at a mosque in Huddersfield.Officers were called to the Jamisalifa Islamic Centre on Halifax Old Road, Birkby at 3.34am this morning ( 2 September) to a report of a burglary there.Officers attended the scene at which a masked suspect had broken in through a door and unsuccessfully attempted to steal property from inside.He was described as masked and wearing a hooded black coat and all black clothing Find out more:

Tuesday 2 September 2025Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a woman died after an incident on Hillcrest Drive, Bradford on Friday (29 August.)  Donna Smith aged 48 was taken to hospital but died from her injuries yesterday.  Kiel Sanderson, 39 of Calderstone avenue was charged with a number of offences in relation to this incident and appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court yesterday.  He’ll next appear at Bradford Crown Court on 30 September. Monday, 1 September 2025 Police are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Hebden Bridge.  It happened at about 11am on Saturday, 30 August when three suspects entered a property in Lee Mill Road.  The occupant, a woman in her eighties, suffered bruising after being attacked in the incident.  The suspects, who are believed to be two males and one female, were all described as being black, or of mixed race.One of the males was said to be very tall and very wide, with big dark hair.   Find out more:

Monday 1 September, 2025A male and teenage girl will appear before magistrates this week after being charged with offending following last summer’s disorder in Harehills.  Lewis McArdle- Rose, aged 20, of North Parkway, Leeds, who defines as white British, will appear before the morning session of Leeds Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 2 September charged with offences of violent disorder and arson.  Find out more:

Monday, 1 September 2025 Police are appealing for information to find a man wanted on warrant.Bradford District Police would like to speak to anyone who can help them find Martin Haley, aged 41, who is wanted on warrant for failing to appear at court.The 41-year-old has had connections to Huddersfield and enquiries have been ongoing there and elsewhere in West Yorkshire. Monday, 1 September 2025 Detectives investigating the death of a man in Leeds have charged a man with murder.  Eljon Markaj, aged 31, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).Markaj has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.  The charges relate to the death of Elsiado Marku, 26, who was pronounced dead at the scene of an incident in Cardigan Road, Headingley on Friday, 29 August.    Find out more:

Saturday, 30 August, 2025Police investigating a collision in Wilsden which left an elderly male pedestrian with serious injuries have made a renewed appeal for information.Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are particularly keen to anyone who saw a group who were in the area that morning repairing drystone walls.The collision occurred at around 12noon on Saturday, 9 August, on Shay Lane at the junction of Crack Lane, Wilsden. Saturday, 30 August, 2025A man is due to appear in court charged with the rape of woman in Leeds in 2021.Rashid Kwabena Boachie, aged 43, of Ashby Terrace, Leeds, has been charged in connection with the rape of a woman in Middleton Grove, Leeds, on 29 August 2021.  Earlier this month, Boachie was charged with a sexual assault alleged to have taken place in Blayds Yard, Leeds, during the early hours of Sunday 10 August.   Find out more:
