A few weeks ago we got a first look at the extremely rare LEGO Peter Jackson minifigure we now know the buyer and how much they paid for it. We can now confirm that Samuel Burkhardt aka rarest_lego_minifigures on Instagram is the buyer which isn’t too surprising. The more shocking part is that the final price of it was $38,028 and if you account for import taxes, it’s value is probably worth over $40,000. When you check out Samuel’s account, you can see thousands and thousands of dollars of rare LEGO items that he has obtained throughout the years and the Peter Jackson minifigure may be one of the most rare ones in his collection. We’re in pretty much unprecedented territory for LEGO Ideas as we’re now at 90 projects that have qualified for the Second 2025 Review Stage. At this point, there’s no question that 100 qualified projects is well within possibility and I’m going to venture a guess that we might even reach as high as 120. The qualifying period ends at the end of August so there’s plenty of time for projects to gather votes. It’s another day and another LEGO Ideas update that adds a few more projects to the ever-growing list of projects that qualify for the Second 2025 Review Stage. It’s was a more tamer day yesterday that brings to total up to 85 and we seemed to have slowed down a bit. I’ve been told that one of the reasons that the LEGO Ideas got so popular was due to the platform being TikTok viral. Users were urged to vote for particular projects and it probably started around Pusheen the Cat and it just spiked from there. We’ll see if the TikTok trend continues or not and that’ll determine if I go back to individual posts. We’re another day into the LEGO Ideas madness and another seven projects have reached the 10k supporter goal. We’re now up to 81 qualified projects and we’re only in mid-July. The 100 project milestone isn’t out of the realm of possibility as we’ve been averaging about 7 projects a day since the surge from last week. If this continues, we’ll easily hit 100 by the end of the week. and we still have 47 days until the end of the Second 2025 qualifying period which ends on August 30.
